correct way to do it is to go and test drive a new srt 8 grand cherro and hold it ransom until your demands are met , technically its not stealing because they gave you the keys .

Hi jeepdate,

I truly feel for you and hope things will work out for you, and believe me when I say I know how you feel because I to love my jeep and that evedent by the amount of time (money) i have put into it getting it to look just the way it did when i saw jeeps in the magz as a kid.

Did'nt mention this in the other post but the Diesel fill Problem, MAN - would you believe I actually pay my nefew to fill it up when ever he's over it kills me that much. I told the guys at jeep about it the other day and they have now (on top of the updated tie rod) ordered some updated fuel filters\breathers or something that say there was a note on thier system about.

Anyway amid that I hope to get it sorted and with any luck get a buyer in the next few weeks - just over it and perhaps I'll buy it back in 10 years or so as a trailer car (toe it to the bush drive it then toe it home). have seen some nice Prados and 100's on the market and with the new shapes out they are good value at the moment.

Funny i have met more happy jk owners than i have unhappy ones. Any problems that they had have generally been brought on by themselves or substandard aftermarket products (bushes flogging out in adjustable panhards tops the list or lifting to high and not correcting geometry leading to bad caster vibes read dw). As for after sales service i personally have found them to be as good as if not better than any other vehicle manufacturer. Personally from what i am reading it seems that many people are expecting the JK to be something it is not. It is an old fashioned 4wd that just happens to have some modern electricals thrown on and if you expect it to drive and perform on road like a modern IFS or one step further an all independant axle 4wd or car you are going to be sadly let down. Those who are heading of to buy prado's and the like are buying a completly different vehicle and you are paying substantially more. There are probably only four old fashioned beam axled 4wd's wagons left that are designed solely with low range work left in Australia and in 2011 it'll probably be less and guess what they all drive a bit like shopping carts with a dodgy wheel at times. Seriously if you want a cosseting ride go buy something else and then you can whinge about what's wrong with them elsewhere, but if want a vehicle that'll leave a smile on face and the occasional skiddy in your undies as it tackles obstacles that sometimes border on insane in low range the JK is for you.

Well put Dhard !!, the JK offers way more offroad options than pretty much anything else in that price range. If you had never had a 4WD before or were expecting a compliant ride thru potholes and and road bumps then you were ill informed before your pruchase, did you ever test drive a TJ ?.

If you modded your JK with no understanding of geametry/load and wear and tear, then you either got a slow lesson or you gave up because you paseds the buck to witch doctors mascarading as suspension/steering specialists.

Good luck in selling your JK now the world knows you created a monster.

Steve
