Default FCV elbow

Wondering if the intake elbow from the earlier 2.5 CRD motor can be used to delete the FCV on my 05 CRD. Anybody done this ?
Seems like a cheaper option than a weeks kit.

From what I know, yes, it does, ( as you have found on LOST. ) Also, remember , you need a tune on the ECU as far as I know, so as not to cause problems. The GDE tune basically disables the EGR in the CRD.

Default tune

Yep
Not going to spend $1100 dollars on a tune on a $5500 car so I'm going to try my luck on one of the free tunes from Lost Jeeps site.

Mainly after the EGR FVC delete and extra fuel economy.

Already go an extra $2000 in it in suspension and timing belt and hoses etc.

I have one of those elbows sitting at home from my old 2003 2.5lt CRD.

I just had an ECU tune done on my 2006CRD.

Before Torque 422NM, and 93 kw at the rear wheels

AFTER

Torque 522NM and 111 kw at the rear wheels.

It's quite substantial difference.
Fuel economy is much better, I will save the cost of the tune within two years, and the drivability is impressive.

Default ecu

Wow thats an impressive increase.
I'm mainly after economy and reliabilty.
I am going to do a free tune from LOST initially, standard tune but EGR and FCV delete and see how it goes then I might try one of the mild tunes to see if it improves fuel.

It's not that I don't think the GDE tune is worth it but I,m a couple of grand worth of parts into this jeep on top of the $5500 purchase so I'm hoping to just drive it for a while.

Yeah I understand the parts cost , just did a huge refresh on my KJ.

I had the Economy Tune done on mine, the power difference is a bonus.

Let me know if you want the Elbow, It's out of the vehicle now.
