Fitted some DBOR flatties.. quite an easy job to be honest.. was expecting it to be a PITA.. some tips for those planning on fitting some.. 1st -Download the Bushwacker flat flare instructions.. these are a lot more detailed than the DBOR ones and will help with cut lines for the rear..
2nd -Buy a nutsert tool.. a cheapie off ebay did the job beautifully and now I have a handy tool..
3rd -take your time cutting the inner mudgaurds.. I actually use a very sharp cerrated knife.. the plastic is thin and hard to handle and found a jigsaw and sawzall was a little hard to man handle by myself along with trying to position the guard..
4th -I trimmed the piping a little for rhe fronts as the bolts tend to make it want to bunch up and not sit totally flush with the flares..
5th -clean and prepsol the area you are going to paint before fitting the flares.. makes prep for paint much easier...

No pics tonight.. but you all know what they look like

Unpacked my Sharpwrax which I picked up today from the freight company.

Steve had packed the rack up very well, it was in a big box and was packed up so no parts could hit each other in transit, every item that was powder coated was packed in bubble pack and was very well protected.

Unpacking the rack I was really surprised by how strong it looks and feels, I had seen pictures of Steves dev racks but seeing it yourself is a different matter, its light to in the hands which is a god-send considering all the weight we add to our Jeeps with bars and skid plates and rock sliders. This thing really was worth the money.

Details unpacked

Rear hinge assembly

Im going to spend the next evening going over the checklist that Steve has supplied and then I will start assembly, Steve has recommended putting the light wiring inside the tube as you assemble the rack as its easier to do this now, I will do this even though I don't have lights sorted out yet. I will add more pics as I move on.

Plastidipped the stock rims. Took a bit less than 2 cans, $30 each from Autobarn...

So with the chores out the way I had a trial fit up to see if it all went together ok, every hole lined up fine, all parts were accounted for...good work Sharwrax.

I didn't add the middle bars yet but this thing is as strong as with out them, added the Yakima Mega Warrior to see how well it went on and if I had to mod it in any way...nope fits like a glove...only thing is its bigger than the rack so where Steve (Sharpwrax) has allowed for lights to be mounted on the front I'm going to have to find a different solution as the cage come forward too much, the back will be fine and with have 2x small LED flood lamps. I will still pre-run all the wiring so its on the rack which will make it easier to wire up later.
