I play Ghost Recon platoon against a mate over the web at Ubi.Com. I'm 42 years of age and never thought I would get into games. But if you have never played it, I think its the best so far as fun and laughs go. Its very interactive. I'll post a couple of action shots when I get a chance.

Any way I know what it is. Software has moved behond kids. The game I play against another 40 year old is way behond what a kid could enjoy. I also think its a good stress relief some times I want to blow somthing up. Also you are playing another human this adds to the fun. We get a lot of laughs from it.

you are preaching to the converted here! Although I am not even in my thirties so I don't think I qualify as middle aged, I do qualify as a computer game nut....

I play mainly 1st person shooters, and started off with DOOM (if anyone remembers that), also return to castle wolfenstein - the original, Quake 1/2/3, Counterstrike, Tribes 1/2, Half Life, Unreal Tournament etc. etc.

If anyone wants a copy of any of these games let me know and I will burn one and post it to you or something.

I used to have a computer system that was overclocked and using water cooling. The higher your framerate the better you play and can have an advantage over other people on slower systems

I am waiting for a new laptop at the moment and then the loooooong and agonising wait for DOOM 3 to arrive. You wait until you see this game :D

The graphics in this game are insane. Screenshots really don't do it justice so if anyone has cable or a fast connection try downloading a few of the movies and see what I am talking about: doom3 movies

jeepdownunder - you need to resize those pictures badly. hehehe. They are over 2mb each which is huge. The one I posted below you is only 140kb - 15 times smaller.

"Doh" I actually reduced the pixals the pics are better than these. But they are still far to big.
I just wanted to show a couple of screen shots. I have removed them. I sent the link you posted to my mate that I know will try it out.
