Update:

I paused production on this for a while due to I was going to buy a winch bar off of a fellow who was going to take his TJ back to stock. After one last harrah, he decided to keep the TJ. So I"m going back to my original plan.

I got this back out today after playing with the bent track bar. Cleaned it up with the grinder and gave it a good coat of rust convertor.

I'll give it a coat of black tomorrow depending on how much time I have

Dave.

Dave
Get some quality gloves and you'll feel heaps - plus you are less likely to burn fingers etc when you pick it up too quick
BTW I trust you are using the 1mm cutting blades to actually cut & flap discs for rounding & smoothing? If not do yourself a favour & do it.
Anyhoose nice looking mount.

1mm Discs for cutting.
Thick grinding disc for grinding down.
Flap disc for rounding and smoothing.

Gave it a coat of primer on Tuesday night, and a couple of coats of spray black last night.

Gave it another test fit today. There were raised sections in front of where the hooks bolt on which were interfering with the fit. So I had another grinding and painting session.

I also removed the old wiring from the winch, as it was annoying me. Are wiring kits available to buy as separate parts? (Ie, can I get one without having to buy another whole winch?) or will I need to get one made?

This pic was taken before I ground the raised section down.

I'd say that it would be about that weight. I can lift and carry the winch and plate one handed with some difficulty. Didn't weigh it though.

Don't ask why I was carrying it one handed.....

Still need to get a solenoid and wire it all up. That probably won't happen until December due to various reasons...
http://http://www.ausjeepoffroad.com...postcount=1798Namely that adventure Killed $650.00 worth of parts. Oh and going away for work.

Hi all,

It's finished. After a minor adventure while getting the winch servicable, it's all done. I had to take the hooks off to ensue that the plate fits properly. I'll incorporate a mount for them into the new bar, when I make it.

Are you leaving it bolted only to the top section of chassis?
