Default Stock Suspension

Does anyone know the stock suspension height, the length of the spring with no load on it???

There were a couple of different stock ride heights, after a journalist almost rolled one, they lowered them slight for awhile but then the heights came up again in later years.
If you measure from the lower edge of your rim (the edge near the ground) to the bottom of the edge of the guard (in line with the hub) then you may find about 690mm as a stock height, but this depends on how tired your old springs are by now. When new my 2007 CRD sat at 690 front and about 695 in the rear.

Other people use a guard edge to centre of hub measure and maybe they will post that up as well.

How could they possibly be 690mm long??? surley no longer than 500mm...

I was talking about a standard method of measuring the suspension height, which is what you asked. I don't know the measurement of an unloaded stock spring but this is irrelevant really because it compresses when installed on the strut. Maybe someone else can help you.

Thanks Glen, but this suspension thing is doin my head in, BALLARAT mechanics are right pains in the ass when it comes to this. I got a price for a CRDSTU system and it is a good price but can not find a mechanic to fit it.

The guys around at TJM Ballarat were pretty cluey when i was there, go around and see Jason ( if he is still there ) if they can't do it he might know someone who can. Or are you a member of the Ballarat 4wd club they might be able to recommend someone...

TJM Ballarat are no longer there... Im in the 4WD club, but they are sponsered by OPPLOC and no they do not know anyone who will do the lift I have tried that, atleast the people that I have asked.
