Default 2017 Jeep Renegade Gets Deserthawk, Altitude Trims

2017 Jeep Renegade DeserthawkInitially dismissed for its Fiat roots, the Jeep Renegade has since gone on to earn respect of off-roaders for its plucky personality and surprising capability.

Clearly better suited to the urban jungle than wilderness trails, the Renegade is nonetheless ready to get dirty when called upon. Jeep is adding two new trims of the popular subcompact crossover for 2017 with the Deserthawk and Altitude models.

The Deserthawk is the more aggressive of the two in terms of styling and packaging, with hood and rear body panel decals, rock rails, and Trailer Tow Group. The package also includes 17-inch black painted wheels, black leather seats with Light Frost stitching, and all-weather floor and cargo tray mats.

The Deserthawk will be offered in Alpine White, Anvil, Black, or trim-exclusive Mojave Sand. The Deserthawk is offered exclusively with the 2.4L MultiAir I-4 paired to a nine-speed automatic. The Deserthawk will start at $29,135, including $995 destination.

The Altitude model is based on the Renegade Latitude model and will be offered with either the 2.4L naturally aspirated I-4 and nine-speed automatic or 1.4L MultiAir turbo paired to a six-speed manual. The Altitude features 18-inch gloss-black wheels, gloss-black exterior accents, black premium-cloth seats, and Metal Diamond accents on the shifter knob and door handles.

The Altitude also includes standard ParkSense rear backup camera and Keyless Go pushbutton start system. The Altitude goes on sale later this month starting at $23,385, including $995 destination.
