Default WJ can't get a horn

Hey guys my horns won't work. Just blow the fuse when pressed. Were working and haven't changed anything.

I'm getting continuity between the pos and neg wires at the horn plugs so it's time to look for a short somewhere. Can this be a clockspring issue doing this, everything else is working as it should so my first thought is a damaged positive wire somewhere along the circuit but not sure of the extent of clockspring issues. Trying to narrow down the search area.

Someone please explain what a clock spring is? I am pretty sure my bomb doesn't have one.

Regards A

It's the little spring in your clock

It's the do-hicky behind the steering wheel that transfers all the electrical signals from the wheel to where they need to go whilst allowing the wheel to turn. Never looked at it so that's the best I can do.

Hmmm, maybe I'll stick a truckie hat over the switch to make it less obvious if I ever go to sell the beast.

That did cross my mind in a lazy haze but the sale thing at a later stage has me thinking I should do it right.

good luck to you with the fishing. If the bloody vinyl layer gets here tomorrow like he was supposed to 2 weeks ago to relay our van we should be having a shakedown long weekend run to the Rainbow caravan park this weekend.

If its not the clock spring, best check all the connections between the horn & back to the control unit. Not sure what sort of relay is used.
BTW fester its surprising that some one has not suggested showing the WJ your avatar, that might help or maybe a bit of viagra ! ~ Your thread title is a little unfortunate. Maybe "Horn on WJ doesnt work" would have been better.
