Default 02 sensor trouble code cure

Guys
this is my first post here from the UK and its just to pass on some info about how to cure the pesky trouble codes that flash up with o2 sensor fault plus blowing a fuse on the fuse box. After changing the sensors and still having the same symptoms, I researched on the USA forums and it seemed a common fault which was usually caused by a wiring issue rather than the sensor itself. After checking all the usual places I was still left scratching my head. I finally found the problem which would only happen on our right hand drive models.
There was part of the wiring looms that runs very near to the steering shaft. The steering UJ was pressing on this loom every time I turned the wheel and it eventually had rubbed through and was shorting.
Its just where the steering shaft goes passed the battery.
It took me months to find it, so hopefully it'll save you guys some heartache.
cheers

John

Thanks John, tips like these are always useful.
This forum has proved invaluable to me on a number of occasions, it's got a lot of years of history and things come up in searches for years.

Yep, likewise. This forum has saved a few headaches with very minor issues that could have turned into a big pain in the ass.
