Default TJM - What a bunch of muppets

I made the mistake of purchasing a TJM Pro locker locally here in Australia despite being $450 more expensive than shipping it in from the USA express shipping. Unfortunately I did not have the time to take the risk on the order being delayed so I ordered it here in Australia. I did try to get the price brought down to match the states but got the usual BS about customer service etc etc and pay full price thank you.

Well I went to add the locker through a well known diff specialist only to find that the carrier did not fit. The problem is the width between he 2 bearing journals is too large, this means once you add the bearing on there is no space to add any shims and what is worse is you then add the carrier to the housing and the bearings butt up against the bearing cups on either side leaving no room for the carrier to move from one side to the other to enable adjustment of the backlash.

When I took this up with TJM I was treated like a second class citizen and had to speak to several people who could not understand the basics of a differential or see the issue after multiple pictures and explanation nor did they seem to care that I did not have a vehicle until the issues was resolved. Even their so called "Diff Expert" Daniel changed his story multiple times and could not understand the issue. If their diff guy doesn't know what he is doing then I really feel for the people who have made the mistake of letting these morons install their diff.

My biggest gripe is no-one followed anything up, no return calls, no return emails nothing. I basically basically had to hound them multiple times a day to get anywhere, they simply did not care that I had no form of transport and would not pay to the diff put back together (this went on for weeks). Their customer service was simply atrocious making me take all kinds of measurements that simply had no impact or help with the issue and constantly made out that somehow I was doing something wrong. When I gave the dimensions and more pictures to show them the issue had nothing to do on my side, including showing them that an ARB and standard carrier fit in no problem, I was challenged on if my measuring tool was not accurate despite being given measurements in millimetres to 3 decimal points (something blind Freddy could of seen was not an accuracy issue if you can get 3 decimal points of measurement in mm). The carrier was tried in both a TJ and XJ diff and of course did not fit either.

Once TJM finally accepted there was an issue with their carrier they stopped all correspondence and forced me to take up the issue further with the store that sold me the item and I eventually got a refund weeks later, not able to go on holiday and down the cost of the attempt to install something that was never going to work.

TJM is a bunch of useless fools playing at being a "real" 4x4 store. The XJ/TJ pro locker does not fit either the TJ or XJ housings and has clearly not been tested. What is worse is we have to pay 30% more in price due to being in Australia (Australian manufacture charging Australians an extra "Australia tax"), just ripping us off and giving us f-all service.

Thinking of a new locker, then don't let the thought of TJM even cross your mind for a potential product.
