Thermostat changed and Jeep is much better for it I reckon.
Couple of fiddly bits but not a bad job overall. Took me about 2 and a bit hours all up but that was in between doing other jobs for SWMBO, lunch and family stuff during the day.
Jeep hit 1/4 gauge within about 3-4 kms now and is at the "I'm running where I should be" temperature of just below 1/2 way not much after that.

I've kept the old thermostat which I'll see about modding kapalczynski style now that I've got the ability to do it in slow time.

Default Hot diesel solutions model 001 engine thermostat

Hello, CRD owners!

I am the guy that manufactures the Hot Diesel Solutions Model 001 engine thermostat assembly for the Liberty/Cherokee CRD.

I am unsure of what I can say on this forum as I am not a paid vendor, but if anyone has questions in regards to the Model 001 I am happy to answer them through e-mail.

The Model 001 is indeed a high performance thermostat assembly that frees you from having to change out the entire assembly. Indeed, the Model 001 is expensive, but that is due to the CNC machining I employ to carve the main housing, the cap and the hose barb that make up the 3rd generation Model 001 I manufacture now. There is actually excellent value for the money spent in these thermostat assemblies.

My contact information is below...

Best regards,

i have one of Jeff's 001's cost a bomb but deffinatly worth it. I've got an arb deluxe bar, steel cable winch and a massive stacked plate tranny cooler in front of the rad behind the grill, 2.5" lift and 31" muddies. fully loaded with camping gear, fridge, draw slides dual battery etc etc going up the range with the factory thermostat even before it failed i had to go up at 40klms or it overheated then would take awhile to cool back down, now with jeffs 001 thermo stat i can power up it at 80klms (which is the speed limit) and the needle only goes a needle width past half then goes back to a needle width infront of half on the gauge almost instantly which is where it sits all the time.
