Ok.. they got me.. how do you get these bastards off? Maybe 1 too many beers but feels like that are going to break. Trying to pry bottom tab up, and tried a little from the top too

Mate, do you mean the little ones in the guard? I think you have to go in through the wheel arch and yank them from behind. Would also love to know how to really do this.

That's the ones. Will take a look in wheel arch, only info I found was as I was describing but feels like they would break.

Ok.. they come off the way way I was describing from the outside. Two small tabs top and bottom

Naa just wanted to clean them up a bit. Put new smoked black tail lights and painted door handles, roof racks, rear tailgate handle and the lift handle above the tailgate handle satin black and was cleaning up all the lenses, high mount brake lens etc..

Excellent, I will give it a go. I got some really cool replacements from Ebay in the US a while ago, they are clear with orange LED's. They didnt cost that much and will look better than the faded orange. I just never got round to figuring how to get the other ones off. Another job for the weekend.
