Ah... there was tubes mentioned, which aren't going to have any effect on the axle strength so seemed a bit confused..... Tubes are a lot of work for a fairly minor gain ( 30% ) in housing strength BTW.

I've got Nitro's and run full circlips, needless to say they and the caps are still there

Bigger U joints is now a relative thing... recent models all have the Rubi sized joints so depending on what you mean by "New Rig" ....... yo may or may not be upgrading the joints.

Yea the tubes were recommended to me from a block in brissy but I don't no much about them at all other then what I have read in the last couple days

It's a 2014 Rubicon with less then 2000km. I was told they were the smaller joints so thanks for the info there.

Glad to hear your happy with your nitros. Murchison In brissy are recommending to ditch that style all together and to go with 300m axles with CV joints.

Only want to do this once so I want to go with the best option straight up, well apart from a full new assembly or d60 lol not spending that sort of coin

Cheers

I'd seriously look at the CV jointed axles.....but I guess I'd have to do a "cost vs gain" comparison over a set of HD universal axles.

If you meaning RCV's.... DONT GO THERE...... expensive, short lived, VERY high maintenance, expensive replacement parts and a warranty that's more marketing then reality

Ask me how I know......

Grinding out the area on the ears to fit full circlips is pretty easy. Just take your time. I have added the synergy tubes as even a 30% increase for drilling out 11 holes and rose welding is pretty easy. I have also welded the braces on the front control arms and the inner C gussets as I had it on the floor. Again I know it's only a slight increase but cheap bang for buck. I haven't upgraded the shafts and will wait and see how long they last.

Very much so I'm afraid. Bought a set to "solve" the front U joint concerns and ended up with far more trouble, work and expense.

Pulled them out and fitted aftermarket "traditional" U joints and have been tropuble free ever since.

Friends have broken and twisted RCV's and have had SFA warranty assistance. Parts..... lets just say its just cheaper to buy different axles that to fix RCV's.

An expensive mistake I won't make again.
