Don't take your rig to Jeep for a service or repair..They'll do any updates missing without asking and then you're back to square one....Every time I've gone to Jeep for service they tell me " Checked all updates and updated {xyz}". maybe stay away until there is a real fix or swap the old back in until they do their thing...Just a thought

Very easy to swap over. The back seat is bolted to the floor with a 18mm bolt each side. One these bolts are removed, the base of the seat slides forward to expose the FDCM on the passenger side. There are two push in fittings to undo and Bobs your uncle.
Took me no more than about 5 minutes. Took longer to get the tools out and pack them up.

Good luck, Craig
How do you know that the new FDCM is not corrupted with N23 software. Companies I called in US would not or could not tell me if the new FDCMs were pre N23.What did the FDCM cost you from Poly 4x4 was it new or s/h

Hi mate, the FDCM was second hand pulled out of a wreck prior September 2013. Given that the N23 was introduced to Australia early September, I knew it wasn't infected.
Paid $280.00. Money well spent knowing that 4Low is there to use.

Cheers, Craig

I don't think you can be 100% sure its pre-update.
The VIN of all the updated Grand's & Commanders is recordered on a data base by Jeep so if you got the VIN off the wreck you could ask a friendly dealer (or someone you know who works for a dealer) to see if it has been updated.

Mine cost about the same

Nope...nothing. As in, I've heard nothing from the dealer. Not a surprise really. Incompetence...

Yep and their denial:

Quote:
Chrysler Group is assuming the expense of repairs, on a case-by-situation basis, for particular clients who observed warning lights in their instrument clusters following completion of a recall-connected software program update. Even so, the update has no bearing on the root trigger of the warning-light activation.

Chrysler Group engineers produced the software update, which prevents an inadvertent transfer-case shift and also allows identification of a pre-existing electrical fault that was previously undetectable.”

Here's the cop-out "allows identification of a pre-existing electrical fault that was previously undetectable"....Think you'd call this weasel words or maybe words that work in your favour..."pre-existing fault...previously undetectable" probably happened during the warranty period (Chrysler may have just admit to a liability on their part)..The Australian ACL should apply regardless if out of warranty. Has anyone had a brand new T/C fitted with the N23 reflash and still having the "Service 4WD System"??..There has been so much discussion on this thread, I've lost track of what and when so Clarky maybe you can refresh my memory stack.

Edit: Changed "new FDCM" to "new T/C" with the N23 reflash...Thanks Clarky
