Default Front Lokka diff lock

Is anyone running a Lokka automatic diff lock in their front diff. I have fitted several and had them before in my previous 4wds but they all had free wheeling hubs. I can’t see it being a problem as the transfer will let the front axel free wheel in 2 wd. I am also considering a 2 low kit for the transfer but have read mixed reviews any feed back and experience welcomed.

For my personal preference, i would much rather a manual locker (cable or air) but to each their own.

The 4:1 reduction kits for the transfer are somewhat limited in usefulness, they do not like high revs and will fail when subjected to them. They are also loud and make it sound downright agricultural when in low range.

If you are willing to be conscious of the 4:1 kit and will reach for the winch rather than the gas pedal, go for it. If you want something more robust i would be looking at a 241OR from a JK Rubi or an Atlas 2 /4. Maybe a Rubicrawler if i had an auto.

Not really looking at a extra low reduction, the teraflex 2low kit offers 2wd in low range. It simply only gives you rear wheel drive in low range when selected. A lot of the time in the bush you just need low range not necessarily the front axle as well. This would reduce the steering effort when not in difficult terrain.

ahh yes, you are correct. Sorry i have not looked at TJ TeraFlex hardware in a very long time. I saw teralow in my head

Low range rear wheel drive has its uses, for less than $300 (USD), why not

looks like TeraFlex are no longer producing the Low 231 kit anyway.

I have a front auto in my TJ (d30). Apart from the clicking when it's in 2wd, I find it extremely useful and very handy. Yes the turning circle is a slight loss in 4wd while engaged, but once you're used to it, you can adjust to the way you drive.

Same experience in my old vehicles, I can live with that and the remaining 1000 plus dollars saved vs the ai locker will go a long way towards other toys
