A simple thing like removing them while the engine is warm prevents them breaking, Same thing goes in aiding the removal of CRD injectors

Yeah brand loyalty running a little too deep....

I couldn't really remove them while the car was warm. Would have cost me some third degree burns with everything being packed in as tight as it is but I get your point.

Its not a matter of driving around and popping the bonnet and starting. 1-2 hours after a drive is enough in most cases.

Have a look at
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/...archid=7243090
you can ream them out.
If a Mercedes Benz can have stuck glow plugs, no biggie for a jeep.
Cant see what all the fuss is about.

I recall one case where a glow plug tip fell into the cylinder when it broke while being removed. You need to assume (if you drill it out and retap or helicoil) that something maybe in the cylinder. The guy who had the loose tip in the cylinder, removed the injector and manged to blow the tip out of the injector hole using compressed air shot in through the glowplug hole.

So it is possible to fix without removing the head but you (or the person doing the work) needs to be creative, good with tools, and understand what they are doing. Obviously don't be looking down the injector hole when you try this. I believe there are some inspection cameras that will fit into the injector hole for checking, which should be done before starting, unless your feeling lucky.

This fix was posted on the LOST forum several years ago, a search there may find the thread.

Most diesel cars these days have alloy heads.
Maybe you mates drive carts towed by a dinosaurs.
Latest diesel car engines have alloy blocks as well.
Do your mates knuckles drag on the ground when they walk?

There are people in this world who define themselves by the things they do, cars they drive and the house they live in. Unfortunately, although good friends, they are too quick to criticize anything but what they drive.

Interesting to note regarding alloy heads. I will be sure to mention that.

Regarding the car, I'm trying to make contact with a mechanic who might be able to fix it for me...

A mech that has done work on diesel Mercedes cars from the 90's would know all about stuck injectors. The om606 was dohc & the GP's were very long & prone to sticking. If the element bit is all that is still in there, that is, the bit that has the thread is removed, you could try starting the engine. Make sure there is nothing that can be hit by the stuck bit of GP, they come out like a bullet. I have done it. just let it idle till warm & then rev it up. It is dangerous but works most times.
