Just done it in mine, literally knocked off 30 mins ago. Can't help you in brand selection though. I got onto a second hand set on ajor classifieds, ome springs and rancho shocks. Done around 50thou klms and the bloke decided to go higher. Cost me $320 + wheel alignment it's pretty straight forward. You have to remove, battery, battery tray, fuse and relay cluster, airbox power steering resevoir and the other sensor thingy too get at the strut bolts. I was able to move the abs module enough to get the socket onto the strut bolt without disconnecing the abs module (had to fairly feed it though )
Just make sure that the ridge on the bottom of the strut lines up square with the top. Otherwise, you'll be compressing the springs eleventy seven times to rotate the top plate until everything lines up.
The problem i had was the spring compressors kept jumping off the springs, i was doing them up with the rattle gun and kept failing so I done them up buy hand and they compressed just fine......... sorry for the rant. It's passed midnight nd ive had a couple lol

I fitted ARB/OME lift to my 06 CRD when it was new. Despite fitting the 'heavy duty' front springs for the diesel, they were too soft & had lots probs with bottoming out on track work. Changed the front springs to Stu Murchison's designed spring made by Kings Springs in Brissy & this problem was solved.
Now done 150,000 km & it's still performing ok.
This combination has good on road manners without excessive lean cornering but maintains good bump absorption.
I tow a off-road camper and added PolyAir bags to the rear. Run at about 20 psi with the trailer on
I've been happy with my purchase.

Yes, I too had the ARB heavy duty coils in the front, and that was in a V6 with a ARBbar, it did take some 5 yrs, but yes, they were not so good, my ARB rear coils died after about 2 weeks the first set, then a year on the second set. I am still running the special set of custom rear coils Stu made for me back in 2007, still about 5in of lift in the rear and can handle any amount of weight in the back, inc towing.
I replaced the fronts when I bought my CRD back in 2009, and they surpassed my expectations, I too am a very happy camper.

Took it out with the lads from the local 4wd club on Sunday. 2" isn't enough. If anything it rides better even at 100klm + then with the stock suspension. it still bumped and scraped everywhere though I'm thinking I'll go another 1" with spacers and definitely getting engine and Trans armor mines the crd and the oil filter location makes me really nervous.
