I was cleaning out the back of the shed and found some old spares I got when I bought the car, couple of spare rims and a spare tyre, this one is a 265/70/R17 and was what was on the car when I bought it, this was a 2nd spare hence is being pretty much brand new.
As I was interested on how it sized up to my BFGs I lined them up for a look and the difference was far bigger than I thought it would be!

BFG MT KM2s 245/75/R17
Michelin LTX AT2 265/70/R17

I think I should be alright clearance to the swaybar and top ball joint bolt with this setup? Body work not the issue for me.

Has anyone run either tyres and have an opinion?

No experience with either of those tyres myself but I think you should be alright with the upper control arm ball joint bolt clearance as they dont have large side lugs.
One thing to consider is the load rating, I know these are for your project(not a WH) but I'm beginning to think some of my ride related issues are due to high load rated tyres, been trying to find a size and load ratio balance on a 16 inch rim for the next phase of my ride recovery plan

They cleared everything with ease thank goodness. I also worried about the load rating and also the weight of the tyres. The worse are mud tyres even in the same size, brand and load rating! The Mickey Thompsons were available in a non LT version but would have to be special order from the US. In the end I was worried about too much sidewall bulge and staking risk on the lighter tyres.

Clearance to swaybar

Upper joint and frame.

What tyres pressures are you running? The bigger the tyre, higher profile, the less pressure you run for the same load. It is the volume of air that carries the load. So you need less pressure to get the same volume into a taller profile tyre.
Have you done the 4 psi increase test from cold to hot? Old industry trick for setting the right pressures. If you get less, it is too high a starting pressure, and vice versa.
