Default swirl motor

had service the other day on my 2006 GC crd.Was told it needed the swirl motor replaced at a cost of over 2 grand !!! Anyone out there know about this problem or how it can be avoided in the future.

Swirl motor sits under your inlet manifold , , it controls a series of butterfly valves that open & close together via a pushrod actuator from the swirl motor , iv replaced a few at work & as far as cost goes 2 grand seems way 2 much ill see what our parts guy can do for me & ill get back to u 2morro night , can u pm me ur vin number so i can get the right part number as there are a few varients between models

a swirl motor failure is inevitable in my opinion on all 3.0L CRDs, you can be in denial now, but it will happen to your vehicle, maybe more than once unless you install a racor or provent which will significantly reduce the chance of a failure.

some 3.0L owners in the UK have been able to recover the costs under the emissions warranty. you may want to check into it if your vehicle is still under the emissions warranty.
