Default My Dana 30 diff needs a rebuild - anyone know any quality Brisbane businesses?

My Dana 30 front diff needs a rebuild (new ring and pinion etc)- anyone know any quality Brisbane businesses? Any idea of cost? (including full install kit).

Any assistance is much appreciated.........I have been looking at doing this for ages and ages, but I was thinking (stupidly) about replacing the CJ7 with a Hilux dual-cab.........jbut I am not keen on forking out that many dollars for a vehicle used only for 4wding and camping once every few months. So the CJ7 will be repaired and retained for a few years yet (hopefully).

Was also thinking about purchasing the ring and pinion, install kit etc from Wooders, but I imagine that a repairer/installer would probably want to put their own gear in?? If someone on here knows their stuff, I am happy to buy the goodies and pay someone to install for me?? (I don't have the tools or experience for something this technical).

Thanks.

What year model is the CJ7?
What Ratio?
The problem when buying your own gear to cut down on cost will impair warrantable issues. You cannot expect a repairer to warrant your parts, thats why they mayk them up.

I've had work done at http://www.difflap.com.au/index.htm on my old CJ8. I was not really happy with the price or quality of work.

On my TJ I get all my diff and gearbox work done at "Diff & Gear Box Industries 2/ 280 Newmarket Rd Wilston QLD 4051 ph: (07) 3356 8397", the guy there is Steve. He likes if you source the parts yourself with jeeps. He is very good on price and does great work. He worked for "difflap" on the southside til they shut down that shop before opening his own shop.

I got my gears off e-bay in the states cause that was the cheapest I could get at the time. Just make sure you get the correct ones for your car.

1979 CJ7 with 4.10 ratio's.
That is what I thought - warranty issues if I source the parts myself.

I called difflap, but they did not even bother to return my call.....not a good sign I thought.

Thanks for the recommendation of Diff & Gear Box Industries, will give Steve a call in the next day or so and see what he has got to say.

I got my gears from the states on ebay.
Make sure you don't exceed 1000 aud value for the goods in the package, or you will pay tax at customs. And have to give them a testicle to prove who you are, and fill out reams of forms, and wait forever for them to release them.
