Default Best Brake Rotors & Pads for WH Grand?

Hi all,
I had a bit of a search through the forum, however would appreciate opinions on which rotor / pad combination would be best for my WH.
I do a fair bit of towing and rely on good braking. I have found the WH braking a bit soft compared to my previous vehicle.

Would also appreciate opinions on where to source them from as well.

Thanks in advance, Craig.

Craig,

I have a 2005 GCL Hemi. Goes really well and [now], stops on a dime.
About 9 months ago, I purchased a full set of front/rears RDA slotted rotors from a mob in Melbourne for far less than the equivalent RBA castings available in Australia.
Fully CNC machined from the same specification cast iron alloy as the RBA's.....

Bought a full set of Akebono premium ultra ceramics from RockAuto far cheaper than any "top-of-line" equivalents available in Aussie.

Really happy with the result.

I bought a set of rear pads in Canada from a local parts place at full retail for $60. AC Delco I think. Still to fit them, but a great excuse to go on a nice holiday!

I suspect that should be DBA.

Was this the one Warod?

That's where I got my WJ discs from too along with some pads (QFM - Australian made pads, pretty good stopping power, except getting a bit sqeaky now after 25,000km).

The discs have been great so far and the customer service by Todd (the owner) was second to none. By the way I believe you meant to say DBA, instead of RBA?

Cherokee30D - If you have no luck with MidnightMods, hit Todd up for a package deal.

From all my research regarding DBA vs RDA when I changed mine, apparently the RDA are a higher quality in the lower-spec discs due to using their own factories in China to produce them, whereas DBA outsource them from other Chinese companies and the quality control is lacking a little. Once you get up into the premium disc range ($400-500+ per pair) the DBA's are meant to be better quality.

Yes Hanna you are correct. I did mean DBA.
Rapid RS was the place also and I do remember Todd....an American gentleman I believe and an ex-DBA dude. Also excellent customer service.

Also I believe you are right in what you say about out-sourcing and quality with the Chinese foundries, I have heard the same rap from different sources....I am a grumpy old engineer still working in the engineering industry in WA..

Cheers,
Rod
