things I got , spanners , sockets deep impact deep , and standard in 1/4 drive , 3/8 drive and 1/2 " shifters from the very small to ones that would crack a skull just by dropping it,
torque wrenchs , rachets , extension bars breaker bars, screw sticks , e type sockets , t type drivers , air tools , compressor , electric power wrench/torque , stands , pullies , valve compressor , compression tester , AC manifold , air vac pump , a 5000lb crane , the famous mecs helper (hammers) AND STILL NOT ENOUGH LoL
I will need to start to look for telescopic gauges , so I can measure up pistons and bores so on , can never have enough tools.

My ex used to say I had enough tools. Lucky for me she left years ago. So I have since gotten every tool I wanted. Still on the look out for more. Like you say a man can never have too many tools. I just need to find a decent tool shop locally as I am having trouble finding things that I need but don't have.

Regards A

Check out any mens sheds, you can be lucky & find one with metal working stuff. Normally its only wood working gear.

Anyone know which brand of long socket I can get that will have a star end on it as apposed to the flat sided end that only a regular bolt will fit into. I need a 1/2" deep socket in 1/2" drive that will fit my head bolts.

Regards A

Are you describing a torx fitting AG?

https://www.google.com.au/search?ie=...E-a_mAXMs4CwCA

There is also a 12 point type ~ dont know the name.

On the diesel they are used on head bolts.
Are your bolt heads male or female?
Given that you dont have a 1/2 decent tool store local, you may need to use ebay or similar. Best get the strong ones ( black, not chrome finish). Most of the sets you can get will not go big enough. Expect to pay ~$20 for the individual one you need.

No not torx I don't what they are called. As everyone knows there are two types of regular sockets that fit normal hex bolts. One has flat internal with like 8 points the other has I think 13 points. Its like the socket you use to undo your XJ star hub bolts just in deep socket and needs to be 1/2 inch to fit the head and 1/2" drive. There must be a name for it just I don't know what it is called.

Regards A
