I haven't received one bjm.
I haven't been able to sort mine out by checking wires and cleaning contacts so the vehicle's booked in for this Thursday to fix the issue seems to me that the July reflash is not a permanent fix mine lasted around 9 months. I'm asking for the FDCM to be replaced FOC I guess I'll see what happens. Your email is interesting I might mention it to the Service Manager if that's OK.

Maybe we should forward this USA letter on to Australia head office & see if they are prepared to do the same.

I'm reading through this to see if there is anyone with the same prob I have had but can't seem to see. I was thinking of starting a new thread but it might be involved (and includes some of the same details).

'05 WH that had had the N23 done over a year ago and has never had an issue with not wanting to go in to 4x4LO.
A week or so ago the 'service 4wd system' light came on whilst driving around the streets. Stopped, turned engine off and started again, light was off. Drive 100m down the street, comes on. Turn off, turn on, drive 600klm home and light stays off. turn on car next day, comes on again. If it comes on it wont go out again until the engine is stopped and started. Sometimes it would come on before you shift into drive....othertimes not at all.

If the light is out, it will go in and out of LO fine. If it is on, no shift in to LO. If I shift in to LO and wait long enough, sometimes the light will come on and I can't shift out (turn engine off, turn on, no light, shift out of LO).

Tried to do the 'turn key quick 3x thing' to get the fault codes, but nothing would come up. When quickly turning the key though, the 'trans overtemp' light is flashing in the background.

took the bash plates off and gave the front diffs a clean...there is a slight leak out of the right side, but i had them all serviced 6 months ago so should be fine?

Have had it to the Dealer, and of course, no light. They hook it up and there's no fault codes stored. They told me they do the P73 flash and it shifts fine, so there's nothing much they can do (which I spose is fair enough?).
Missus picks up the car, drives back to work, and then on the drive home, bang, light pops up again!!!!

Has anyone else had an issue with this popping up intermittantly and whilst driving? anything you can suggest to check? guess i might need the program for the laptop to try test it when it comes on?

Berko82...Not sure if this helps but I remember way back that Multihull had a similar problem and it was the wheel speed sensor..I might email him and check.

Speed sensor, diff solenoid, diff wiring, could be any of these things.
It seems that since the latest software update anything that triggers the 'service 4wd system' fault disables the shift sequence.
