Thanks guys ...

I have some other plans but not as many as the XJ I had. The Commander still needs a tweak. Not completely happy with the gap between the rear tyre and the wheel arch compared to the front. But? I need a bit extra for when I hook the boat up. So Jury still out on this one at the moment. I will post some more pics if I can get 5 minutes to myself ... Its silly season and getting sillier !

Gee that looks good!

Having bought th WH Grand a bit over a year ago, and then having the first born come along...I'm really starting to think I should have looked closer at the Commander.

Do they have as much more room in the boot and rear seat as they seem (compared to the Grand?). The baby seat behind the front passenger in the grand doesn't leave much room in the front!

Saw that some had the QD11, plus the 7 seats would come in handy (and they look like decent pews too?!)....and the ones I looked at recently online were probably better priced than the grand too!

oh well...no point kicking myself. The WH is still good - and the missus wouldn't be too impressed if I floated the idea of trading already!

I was/is in the same boat, just a bit further down-stream (first-born is 16 months now.), second due in ~7 months or so.

The Commander is unarguably the more practical vehicle... I'm sure there'd be more of them here if we all thought more logically about our purchases haha...
It has a lot more room in the boot, due to the square shape and higher roof.
Also feels more "roomy" in the front and rear seats, although not really any more cargo space per se.

I thought about making the switch early-on, but I've cut enough holes in the WH that I feel committed now.
So I've been working on some rear storage/drawers/sliding floor thing, to utilise as much of the boot space as possible. The angles and "tub" below the door height (once the plastic false floor is removed.) make it tricky.

I've moved all the "off road" gear onto the roof; recovery, air compressor, spare wheel (aux fuel tank took it's spot.) and other bits and pieces.
The idea of putting soft and light things on the roof doesn't work when half of it's for a baby.

I'll post some photos of the rear storage if you're interested?

We have our baby seat in the middle. Easier for wife to climb in and sit as she put the baby in, and easier for the baby/toddler to see stuff (the iPad mainly haha.) once she could face forward.
