I checked out a bunch of video's on youtube - and def looks like the CV joint is the culprit. Same description of noise etc.

Ordered the CV from Bursons and old mate there asked if I was getting the shaft balanced?
The only mention I saw about that was in one of the vids a guy getting a new shaft made up.
No you don't, not for just a C/V replacement.

Got the cv changed. All sorted. Thanks guys.
Drove about 50klms and came up with engine lights and 'service 4wd' alarms. Got home and turned on and off - service 4wd cleared, but the engine light kept coming on. Hadnt had a chance tontake it to my mechanic (i dont have a scan tool)...but now the engine light alarm has cleared and not coming back on?

I wonder if the mechanic moved it about the shop without the front drive shaft?

Grt yourself a bluedriver. Best Bluetooth OBD2 scan tool available for jeep.

Yeah I second the Bluedriver, I messed around with a few other cheaper readers and while they worked Bluedriver was the only one that would give me detailed transmission codes and transfer case codes, and clear them It'll even tell you if you've got a issue with your amplifier
