Default Allianz Insurance changes

Had a call from my insurance lady (DGA) and she told me that Allianz was not able to insure my Jeep any more because they will not insure any 4WD that is raised more than 2 inches. Was no problem for the last 2 years
Anybody else got a phone call on this matter? Who is everybody insured with these days because by the looks of things i need a new one.

Someone else may be able to elaborate a bit more but I believe anything above 2" (50mm), over stock height is considered 'illegal' without an engineering certificate.

Engineering certificate is done and even the bigger sized tires are on it. Got it done when I bought it by a RTA guy in Brisbane. It is attached to the rego as well and never had any problems. Cost me $1200 but.

Got my TJ insured with them today. There was some confusion about not covering my lift but it's 2inch. The girl had to go check a few things. So there must be something going on.

Are you through Allianz directly or through a broker? Mine is insured through what ised to be TCIS who insure the 4wd clubs. Cant remember what they are called now.

Its through a broker (DGE). She can not understand it either because she has the engineering certificate for the mods as well in front of her. It all came about through some knob insurance assessor from a accident last year. He stated that I am running 33'" tires with my 2.75"' lift. I told them that you can not fit 33"' in a 2005KJ with a 2.75'" lift kit which they in the end admitted that the info provided by the assessor was wrong. However they changed the rules and will not insure anything higher than a 2" lift.
Time for a new insurance... Has anybody heard anything about this insurance that Pat is flogging on his 4WD show?

we also had an issue meeting the insurance criteria after lifting. we changed to TCIS with no issues. they also offer a discount if your with a 4wd club. ironically they are underwritten by Alliance.

have not had to make a claim, but they are a specific 4wd insurer and their PDS seemed very comprehensive
