Don't forget the fuse is not there for the load and is not necessarily related to the load, the fuse is there ONLY to protect the cable, the fuse rating should never exceed the rating of the cable, it can be less though....

I would use a circuit breaker instead of a fuse KJ. I had voltage drop before I installed circuit breakers now I have none.

Rainman, would 100 amp fusible links be alright to use on the aux battery instead of fuses or cirquit breakers, when being used for running accessories only eg fridge

mate, would not like to say, not that familiar/seen fusible links in that application. I believe they blow slower than fuses and are more resistant to spikes. Also how many amps can the cable take?
Are you looking to protect the cable going to the primary batt or the accessories that run from the aux battery?
Certainly, they would be "better than nothing" for protecting the cable. wouldn't be using them to protect accessories that plug into the aux batt.

This is impossible to answer without knowing the size of the cable, if it was 8ga cable then that would be a big NO!!

Remember the fuse is there to protect the cable so it needs to be selected to suit the rating of the cable, ideally less then the cable's rating.
In my setup I was running 35mm2 cable (2ga) with an 80A fuse....

Junglejuice I'm not sure of the mm2 but a 10 mm cable lug sits on it nicely and the cable is about 3500mm long running off a Kings smart isolator setup.
