Default Wandering JKUR

Have an 07 JKUR. Rubicon Express 3.5 lift and 35" tyres.
No death wobbles or shimmys (I've dealt with them), it just that I often having to make steering corrections for no change in direction or under heavy acceleration between manual gear changes.
I think it may be castor (but I'll listen to any other likely suspects) so I am looking for some info on how to measure and what the measurements should be for castor front and rear.
Have adjustable front and rear upper control arms but dont know how to adjust them...............do you need to remove one end to spin them or do you just turn the nut?
Reply here or even better, call me.
Thanks in advance.

Hey Mick,
your on the money for disconnecting one end of the upper control arms to make adjustments.
quick castor check on level ground at 3.5", the face of the flange at the back of the front diff should be close to vertical, that will have you at about 6deg of castor.
If you need to make adjustments, do one at a time. use a jack under the diff to assist in rotating it into position to line up the control arm to bolt it back in.
if the castor is correct and still wanders. something must be loose or have play in it, try the grab a friend trick and get them to rock the steering wheel back and forth while inspecting all the steering components.
still no joy, wheel bearings and ball joints can do some tricky stuff, give them a good look with the wheels off the ground.

sounds like you have had a bit of experience with DW, so I prolly just told you stuff you already know.

Cheers JJF

Wander cause by power on/off ie gear changes is generally rear steer can be caused by bad trailing arm bushes in rear, rooted/loose track bar, or faulty rear shock. a general wander is generally caster 6-7degrees on that much lift should see it tracking nicely. Steering box play is the next place to look as it will need constant steering input to keep it between the lines. I went Redneck ram assist and rebuilt/ported the box myself using their kit $45 usd
