Default Wrangler Tj offset/backspace

New to the forum and first post,

Just picked an 04 Wrangler and want to get the wheels and suspension sorted out.

The car is not my daily driver, it's a new toy for playing around on the weekend. Nothing serious, just for fun.

I have chosen the following combo.

Tyres : BFG All terrain 285 75 16
Rims : 16 x 8 black steelies

Tough dog 2" lift kit (adjustable shocks)

1" body lift

My question is what backspace and offset should I get on the steelies?

I have read through 100's of posts and have managed to confuse myself.

Thanks,

JW

I run 100mm BSS on my 15x8 Dynamic steelies. You will need to fit a set of 6" flairs to cover the tyres though.

Thanks Low Ranger,

With the combo I suggest is it possible to stay within the std flares?

The only way you might get a tall tyre to fit under std flairs would be to go with 33x10.5R15 on a 15" rim. That combo is the same height as the 285/75R16, but an inch narrower.

Low Ranger is right 33X10.50rX15 is what I run , Fits perfect under the standard flares on STD, steel jeep rims but will need to adjust steering stops also have 50mm lift and have increased bump stops 20mm.

On aside note , BFgoodridge and Gt radials ?? seem to be the only ones who stock this size unless you what some thing extreme like Simex or Silver stone extreme mud tires. I run the GT radial Komodo multi terrains , which still are aggressive enough for myself.
