The healthy Ozzie dollar has gotta make it good for buying stuff from the States...anyone got any good, proven contacts, acceptable methods of payment..Aust Customs issues...horror stories etc, etc?

QUADRATEC is a good online store, have bought quite a few things from there always on my doorstep in under two weeks, as for customs, anything over $200 will be taxed at %25 upon arrival in Australia so its a good idea to do your homework and make sure you can't get the part cheaper in Aus. For example a high lift jack is cheaper to buy here because it weighs so much the freight makes it to expensive, but on items like full oem doors etc. its way cheaper to buy u.s
Hope this helps a little

Phwaaor... I'd have to rate Quadratec as one of the worst online stores...
I've ordered from them and have had nothing but trouble every time. Maybe they don't like me...

I have bought quite a bit from Rocky Road lately.

http://www.rocky-road.com/

Prices are resonable and they have deliverd in time frame they stated. Just watch the freight costs cause every time it has cost a bit more than stated at on-line shop. But Rocky Road did email me every time with an ammended quote before they billed me.

I have never payed customs for any delivery even though last delivery was over $500.

For anyone who says we should buy from Australian outfitters. I agree. But what I have bought was not available in Australia.

Mmm, I've ordered a few small items from Quadratec and they've been great?? Althought if you do a pit of research on the US boards it seems opinion on them is pretty divided there as well!

I've ordered through quadratec as well and have never had problems.

Bestop Tonneau cover - on my doorstep in 6 days
Teraflex disco's - on my doorstep in 8 days

As Ben said, people in the US also have mixed experiences with these guys.
