Default Bellhousing star headed bolt info

Hey dudes,

As advised by Laz I found the two evil star headed bolts holding the gearbox on at the top of my bellhousing mid-way through clutch replacemen on my 97 AX-15'd TJ

anyone know their size and what type of freakys socket I need for em ?

I say Gordo... what you need is a reverse Torx E-12 socket as there are two of them attaching the transmission to the engine.

I used a dremel and cut those suckers out! After my mechanic mate stripped them both hammering a socket onto them to try and remove them...

Cannibal, is he still a mate and is he cheap ?

Thanks for the [belated] info dudes but that Gordo bloke told me just what I needed (apart from the obvious).

He said he found the info on the net in a writeup of a bloke swapping out a stuffed Pug gearbox in an XJ for an ax15.

Borrowed an E12 socket off a mechanic mate and have the little blighters out. Turns out they are HT too..grade 5.

Gonna get some NORMAL headed HT ones tomorrow to replace em..

Oh yeah - turns out my clutch ain't fried after all...just the skanky slave cylinder.
