Default Your Jamboree Project?

As the clock ticks towards the next Jamboree, I thought it might be a bit of fun & encouragement to review and discuss our planned projects.

Personally I'm keen to get my Willys Ute there.
It's currently got no engine, gearbox, transfer case.
Most of the electricals are shot/missing/old/dubious.
Diffs are 2wd.

So I've got some work ahead of me.

What's your project????

My project would be finding the cash to get there and back. Got time off work but that's the easy thing.

Hoping to get a bar with recovery points, winch and a hayman reece recovery point for the rear. Business is going to need to pick up though if that is going ahead. Repco's have a maxi trac winch 4.5t on special I reckon I may be able to get it cheaper elsewhere and may also be able to layby it. As for the front bar I am looking at modding a Hilux one. I measured one up an the widths are pretty much the same as an XJ. The shape also seems about right to follow the update lines. The only issue will be the brackets (no doubt) but with some AJOR help I reckon I could get some pics and dimensions and should be able to get them made at my local steel place.

I wanted arms but they are looking a little far out of reach before Jambo. I have a couple of little repairs to tackle in the next couple of months so they will take priority over arms unfortunatly.

Chances are I may need tyres as well before I head off. I am looking at Coopers 255/70 r15 or Toyos, same specs. Although I am edging towards the Coopers for comfort, because they are not a LT construction.

Worst comes to worst I can still join in the low level tracks as I bought the tickets last night so at least I will be there.

Regards A
