Default Honest reliable mechanic needed

Morning all.
My rear main seal looks to have sprung a leak. Not happy the car has only done 50k!!!
Is it a job that can be done by someone half way competent in the garage over the weekend with a carton of beer? If so I’ll give it a crack.
Does anyone know anyone Northside of Brisbane that is honest, reasonably priced and good with jeeps.
The car is a 2015 GC OVERLAND WITH THE 3.6 petrol motor.
I would appreciate anyone’s help.
Thanks in advance.

I can't help you with a recommendation as far as a mechanic goes, but a proper rear main seal repair is a serious job and well above a weekend over a few beers sort of job. It's engine out and crankshaft out sort of job.

As Troutman says, it is a big job, in W.A i could give a recommendation not Qld.

Depending on the motor design, it could be engine out, or at the least gearbox off.

Have asked my Brother who lives up there and will get back to you. Spewing still not under Warranty! Did it have a hard 50k? Seems so early

The Pentastar 3.6 motors are known for crook and leaking main seals. Google Jeep Pentastar 3.6 rear main seal leaking.I would ASAP get in touch with your local Jeep Dealer .If none near ,go straight to FCA and open up a case. ,follow up with emails for records.Log all calls etc .Under Aust consumer law this motor is not fit for the purpose intended. It should last longer than 4 years or 50000 ks before this problem occurs. As its a known problem I would put the pressure on FCA. Murchisons Jeep specialists are on Brisbanes Nth Side ,give them a ring. The Pentastar 3.6 also had another serious oil leak area from the oil filter adapter that was for up to . 2014
NB Obviously confirm its a leaking main seal before contacting FCA.
