Think it only has a speed rating ... ie: how fast it will be going through your windscreen when it lets go

Id say the only recovery option with that bar would be a tow hitch, assuming the swing outs would clear one??

Say the bolts are 12mm grade 8.8. (I am guestimating here. They might be imperial.) 15kn breaking strength (no safety factor). So 3000kg for both. A snatch strap has a rating of about 8000kg. I have seen multiple snatch straps break. Sure they might be a little worn but not significantly. The tie point will rip off easily and there is no factor of safety at all

Default JK Rear Bumper Roundup

Considering the largest registered Jeep club in the country use them as recovery points it's generally a pretty good indication that its safe to use. Or are they all wrong?

And how many people here use tow hitches, ( only rated for towing not recovery) as recovery points?

I am not going to say whether someone uses it or not. I am just putting some numbers out there for people to consider. I have used it before however I will probably hesitate to recover a stranger who is badly bogged with only the tie down points

These numbers are incorrect. Bolts, snatch straps, shackles, etc. are designed to different standards and the 'ratings' cannot be simply compared unless you fully understand what they actually mean.
