Hi Yumpet,

I worked up there for six months, many many years ago. The bush tracks were great back then. You would stumble across abandoned mines, aboriginal rock paintings, all sorts of stuff. Sorry I cant help with specific info today. Dont forget the gulf is only a day or so's drive away. You'll have plenty of fun m8. - there'll be guys there to show you around for sure.
Good Luck

Thumbs up Jeeping in Cloncurry

I live in Cloncurry (1 hr and a bit East on the Isa) and have recently purcahsed an 05' TJ Wrangler.

I know of plenty of tracks and camping areas - all a bit dry at the moment, but gets really interesting when the wet season sets in.

A good day trip is spot on half way between the Isa & Curry (only 30 minutes). Would be keen to catch up and do a trip.

Send me email: john.a.lester@mainroads.qld.gov.au and we can organise something if you like.

It's a Jeep Thing.

Cheers & Beers,
Johno.
