Default Advise on Torque Wrench

Guys, need a torque wrench for a couple of jobbies i need to do to the Jeep over the weekend.
Can anyone recommend any particular brands that would be good without being awesome & reasonably priced. Dont really wanna spend much over $100. Plenty of cheapies out there or on Ebay but havent used one before so please throw ideas at me.

Need one asap so if you know of any good deals in Perth, please let me know!! Preferably NOR.

Cheers......

Can I suggest searching for an old second hand Warran Brown torque wrench. These dont have the ratchet or click head, its the old style that have the flex bar on top and the pin clicks out when you reach the set torque.

When doing engine rebuilds our personal torque wrenches were tested monthly by the company and the only one that didnt require adjustment was my old warren brown. All the flash snap head wrenches required adjustment from just a drop or normal use.

So if you dont have the capacity for regular calibration, picking up an old WB will ensure yours is pretty good for life.
Glenfords is pretty good for price and supply of quality tools in WA, occasionally Coventrys (AHG now!) do good deals on old stock.

If you need to check a few things...welcome to come over and borrow mine for a second but im SOR!
Matt.

THanks guys, might sus out auto one tonight, i think thats all i need.

I would like to go macca's suggestion but i need it for Sat morning & to be honest i only want it for simple stuff like track rod, suspension checks etc etc to keep an eye on things. I'm sure the king crome will be accurate enough for that.

I will however keep an eye out for the warren & if one comes up then i'll have 2!!

+1

As long as your not throwing it around the workshop and you look after it, then you should get a couple of home mechanic years out of it before needing to re-calibrate it anyway.

No worries, just remember if you get the micrometer torque wrench (screw dial in the handle) ensure you back it off to zero after use or before storage. If you leave tension on the spring they go out of calibration.
