WG: Numb Nuts Overland
Hi
Bought my first Jeep, it's a Patriot Blue Pearl 2005 WG Overland that has done 135,000km.
I live in Queensland and bought the vehicle from Victoria, had a professional third party inspection done by State Roads. Last documented service was 26,525 in 2008 so I'll definitely do a major service including any adjustments or replacement parts as set out in the service book from 25,000 to 140,000km
Looking at the photo's and talking with the inspector, bushes, ball joints, engine mounts, rotors, pads, dana 44a axle seals, rear main seal will need replacing.
Might aswell replace hubs and bearings whilst doing the axle seals.
Doing all the repairs myself, will go over it with a fine tooth comb.
Gets picked up by transport Wednesday next week.

I was never satisfied with it, became a chore and had grown out of drawing attention to myself.
Absolutely insane amount of work I put into that hilux.

Consensus on ball joints? Not convinced to jump on the Moog hype train yet, any recommendations?
Cheers 👍

I hear ya, mate. Well done though, it's a very inspiring build.
You will probably have a love hate relationship with the Grand too. For me it's love, haa..haa.. whatever's wrong with it is just a fix away really.
Niggly things are well documented. I would probably suggest an Addco rear anti sway bar to the list if it's not there already.
The motor is prone to dropping a valve seat or two, so if you get a chance to change the seats, peen them or just take real good care of the donk, don't over heat it ever, hopefully it'll take you to 300k kms or more.
More stuff on ironman4x4... Andy does some great stuff for the Grand. He replies promptly to questions too.
If you're in Brizzy, Murchison OR does everything, pretty much, including ceramic headers..
For an inside job, Alpine double dins are there to pimp your ride. Rectangular fascias or bezels are on fleabay or amazong.
