Snorkel is a must. Front bash plate that *doesn't* double as a clay scoop might be nice - I just emptied about 6 litres of clay out of the front bash plates of my TH.

I'm not sure what can be done to put better traction tyres on, but I'd be keen.

If it could be done affordably, a bullbar with winch like RROs would be great. The TH does get high-centred when the ruts have been carved out by the big muddy wheels - not such a drama in company, but self recovery would improve the solo-touring aspect of this vehicle remarkably.

Oh and if there's anything you can do to beef up the door seals, I'll give you my credit card tomorrow.

Failing that, something so I can get the mud and silt out of my carpet would be nice

Lenoir I highly doubt it's the door seals that caused the issue, the FIAT designed KL may differ but I've found a KK sitting halfway up the doors in mud forces it to rise up the window rain drainage holes which fills up the inside of the doors and then pours into the cabin through the gaps in the door trims, it's a nightmare!

The only solution is to have one way rain drainage valves on the doors or block them altogether? As far as your carpet is concerned you'll need to remove your seats, centre console, some of the plastic cabin mouldings, carpet and noise/heat insulation. You'll then need to wash out the whole floor pan with some corrosion inhibiting cleaning product.

The carpet and insulation will also need to be soaped up and rinsed out then wait a week or two to dry before it can all go back in. Not fun driving an otherwise nice vehicle with just a driver's seat bolted in, it's like you're driving in a smash up derby! Gets allot loader and hotter too. Good luck!

Interesting.. SeaComms,

What about the JK you didn't agree with and how do you consider the TH an upgrade?

The TH is capable enough offroad for my needs (once I stick decent tyres on it) much much much more comfortable for daily drive duties of which I do about 30,000km a year (and lucky if 1000km of that off road unfortunately) much better fuel economy and better towing capacity than the 2 door JK.

Oh and did I say it was more comfortable?

Just for the record since its been a while since the previous post, I have since put a deposit on a Granite Pearl Trailhawk with the works. Tech pack, comfort/convenience pack, tow pack and dual pane sunroof. They dont seem to bring in many with all options so had to wait for the next available one which is somewhere between Tahiti and New Zealand at the moment!

Cool, fair enough. I guess it depends on what you're after and what you plan to do with it.

My roof is slightly ahead of your TH, just left AKL yesterday, Port Kembla on 07/08 this Friday. .
