This was from a report locally in Perth so is probably not directly applicable to your NSW report, but some of what was being said was very similar wording to what I read here. In typical government fashion I expect a pinpoint safety issue will be given a shotgun application and damn the public interest.

You lot need to get 4WD Vic on your side, they hassled the minister down here and got an agreement that nothing will happen without their input.

And i see that some states in the US just voted in the right to carry sidearms at all times in public, in bars and shopping centres for their own protection.

Why is it that the US which is cram packed full of lawyers has it so easy?

The "Right to bear arms" is enshrined in their constitution (2nd amendment), can't see us getting the 'right to lift 4WDs' put into ours.

In addition to the "perceived need" to have high lift kits fitted in the U.S. ... there is also the "genuine need" for additional clearance because of snow depths during winter in lots of daily driving environments for lots of the population.

Makes the lifts more acceptable to the general public ...
