Rob,

This particular unit comes with all wiring included.
It was 100% plug & play. No joining of wires.

I have the premium Boston Acoustics sound with Amp.

The wiring supplied has a canbus decoder, so just plug into standard loom & off it goes. In my case, steering controls @ all. The unit fully works like my old standard one. It stays on until opening door etc etc.

The only issue I had with this unit is no volume control on the actual unit. Have to use SWC, so passenger can't adjust volume.

PS:

I did some homework before my purchase & believe their are a few options to retain the existing system - something "like" the RP4-CH11 kit that PAC Audio make might work for you - not cheap though.

Thanks for your reply

I had another look at the one you brought and wow if I wasn't so tight I would of got your one. lol (the risk of going wholesale instead)

Sounds like you got a good setup, not knowing how "particular" jeep is, was my downfall.

I'm going to have to make a loom out of a Jeep-ISO cable and the one supplied and the PAC(SWC)

I asked mainly about the loom because I have the premium sound as well and its $250 for a cable to retain the factory amp(I'm told).
Which is 9 years old and I have to run a cable that way, so I might as well bump the power and replace the amp.

Now some decent weather and time and I'll be able to see how good or bad this all goes!

fingers crossed lol

cheers

Rob

I'd be careful with the PAC, I did quite a bit of research a while ago and unless you can read German, I would stay away from the PAC.
