Modern UI (user interfaces) are white and clean, and have been researched to be more pleasant.

For that reason, I would suggest a facelift of the site with a new skin and perhaps an upgrade of the vBulletin engine from 3.8.7 to the newest version (v5). A cleaner more usable look will give people no reason to be drawn to the the shiny evils of FB. It sounds superficial but a clean new look has a strong psychological effect on people.

Just my 2 cents.
I hear where your coming from with upgrading to VB5, this is something that may be on the cards this year, but in saying that, you will then get this issues with people being happy with how things are here currently, and if you change that they get upset. Have seen it time and time again, if we move a section, everyone has a heart attack for a few weeks because its not right there.

So true! Re-arranging the section (or data structure) involves a bit of people change management, but a slick UI upgrade need not involve a change to the forum's structure. They are 2 different activities that separate form and function. In saying that someone will still complain about a colour change hahahah. This is my world, when it come to application design [sigh.....]

make it more user friendly to add photos, you should be able to drag and drop from desk top or add from desk top rather than have to use another site to load photos.
I had an issue with tapatalk as well, I was on the forum on tapatalk when an add appeared, when I tried to close it, porn started downloading, I had to deleate the app from my phone.
an ausjeep app would be good.

otherwise love the forum and like so many have learnt a lot and made good connections,
and I think its been mentioned but I too have not had much luck with the search function.

cheers.

Yeah Tapatalk is a separate app and all it does is connect to the Ausjeep database, we have no control over how the app runs unfortunately.

Yes an upgrade to a newer VB in 2015 could be on the cards.
