ive found going in there during the day mon - fri is a no no... if a gate is open, stay out... last time i did that, not only did i run into land keepers, but i also came across an unmarked cop car sitting in the bush in there... i drove back out, never got any mail so i can only assume he was nice about it.

Probably right because i remember asking them if they had legal access still and i never recieved an answer from anyone....
Its too good to pass up imo it will only be houses soon anyway.....
A local who has been wheeling there for years, was pulled up by a cop for the first time whilst airing down a month back but the cop reckons he was there only chasing the unregistered trail bikes. He could not guarentee the next officer would be so nice so they took the hint and left.
Two weeks back i went in there, seen stacks of bikes and a few cars and no cops....

Yes I even spoke to the young guy himself whom had done a night run there earlier and a w/end one as well.......... He recognised me from being there etc, and wondered why the SJC were not there anymore......Told by simply why, treated as a "Criminal Matter" treatment by Police now, after speaking to the "area traffic commander" about the matter of driving there again somehow, after he had gone "higher-up" for me.........Blunt answer = NO GO SORRY & informed me of the possible charges that they would/may laid on the driver/passenger/s as they are tresspassing as well??. Then insurance issue's if something were to happen there, no coverage simple erk! ........... So repeated same "enter at own risk".
The young guy also mentioned this letter they had to use the place but after he promised to send a copy through to the club & to me , guess what, no email......Lol........
Follow up back then - no letter currently is out there for any club's to use Menai again from the 4wd Assoc. on any club runs there or, they simply used an "old one"............... No more Menai committee anymore anyway, so it remains as "Enter at your own risk".............. Yes, another 1 or 2 out off town clubs have also been seen down there as well....Their choice..........

i've never been there, but just as a matter of interest, does anyone know why are the police so interested in keeping bike riders etc out of land if it just going to be turned into a housing development?

Because it's private property. Doesn't really matter what's going to be done with it it's somebody elses property and they dont want dirt bikes or 4WDs in there. Simple really, I'd also imagine there is potential for some liability issues in regards to if someone was seriously injured while on the land.

Cheers
Steve
