Yeah similar sort of thing. Fridge relays tend to connect normally and cut out at around 11 to 12 volts.
Smart solenoid and relays or voltage sensing relays normally connect when the alternator starts charging at 13.6 volts then disconnect when the voltage drops to 12.6 volts.
These figures vary with different units but you get the general idea.
I reckon the dealer would be charging handsomely for the Priceline of fitting it and yes I hope they use good gauge wiring. We always use 6B&S on 50 amp Anderson plugs.

With my new rig while I have run the cable to the hitch for fridge I am yet to add a relay under the bonnet, I usually run a trip wire from an ignition active circuit to activate a 50 amp relay, pulling the anderson at the moment.... in the fullness of time it will happen.......

Mate it’s simple and it works. Just have to remember to unplug the van when parking for a while. We are currently fitting Low Voltage brand 140 amp auto relays which work a treat. Part number LV1009 if IRC.

As an old truckie I always do a walk around each time I get in or out of the Jeep when towing to see if anything has fell off so I don't forget....do my own sparky stuff and mechanical on the rig.... I piggy back off the jump points under the bonnet with a maxi fuse and anderson so if I want power easy I just unplug and plug in compressor multi use point under the lid.

I have a similar setup but yet to fit a fuse, what amp maxi fuse do you use?

Many will gasp but only a 35 amp, back in the 80's I fitted a mechanical relay to a similar set up but only had a 35 amp fuse to fit (large barrel type) well it never failed and I never did replace the unit, lasted about 2 more vehicles and have used just a 35 amp ever since but not your normal fuse box size job. I figure if the fridge blows the 35 amp something is not right and the cable is good for 85 amp or more.....when I use the compressor plugged into the line, the engine is running and I shut the pump down between tyres and the cable is 6 B&S right to the unit the standard cabling is too light.

OK. I only use mine to run a 15 amp compressor so a 35 amp fuse should be plenty. My hd cabling is around 85 amp (85 or 90 can't remember exactly).
