Default Perelli Scorpion for 2013 Trailhawk

G'day

Has anyone tried the Perelli Scorpion 260/60/18s. They no longer make the Goodyear silent armor that the car came with (which were a great tyre) So am really confused what is the next best AT tyre.

Depends on where you go. After 3 punctures in 2 days on outback NT roads, I wouldn't call the Silent Armor a great tyre. I spoke to several tyre dealers who all said Pirelli sidewalls too soft for our conditions. Wound up with Dueller 697s.

There's a long thread here already on AT tyres. Have a read.

Depends how hard you're going to go, but my Pirellis have been great in all conditions so far. Great on beach, excellent on dirt and gravel, ok in thick mud. And from a road point of view, they're fantastic (about 80% of my usage). Reasonably quiet. Had Geolanders previously - crap.

I've had the Pirellis in the past. Great tyres - except for wear. The Btidgestones have given me nearly twice the milage.

Cheers

Yep, I'd go the bridgestones if I was sticking with original size.

edit: Or if you want to stick with passenger construction, then maybe the Cooper AT3.

Hi Aussiebull,
I have a Trailhawk and have done over 65,000 kms on Silent Armors and also found them very good, I have read all the other posts on tyres and I am thinking of replacing mine when the time comes with the new Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure which replaces the Wrangler SilentArmor tyre in the curent Goodyear range.
