Default City View 4WD Park - Sun 19/3/06

My boss in his lifted and locked 105 Cruiser and my 01 XJ Cherokee (stock) went for a trip out to City View on the weekend. Mostly it was a proving trip for the Jeep, getting familiar with it etc.

Day started off easy, getting onto one of the easier rated tracks.

As city view is built in the hills, you do a lot of climbing.

The track is a little muddy in places. Got stuck here ... but reversed and tried it with more right boot and got through!

Stopped for lunch at "The Best Lookout" from which you can see the CBD.

There was some water to play in:

This was the entrance to one of the harder tracks - dropped down quite sharply then a climb out. The video also serves as a reminder to watch where you are going when filming

105 got grounded out 2/3 of the way up a steep hill on that track (and broke the diff) ... didn't try it in the Jeep (only on standard size AT/Rs):

Winched out:

Coming back down in 2WD:

Lunch spot:

All in all a good day out and a good test track. My only comment would be it would be nice to have more "shortcuts" or ways to get off a track ... the tracks themselves are quite long and since they are one-way it makes it hard to backtrack or adjust the length of the track. Also no chicken tracks around some harder obstacles. But I'm sure they are getting there with all that, the park is only new.
