After months of planning, another Camp Coffs has come and gone. I would like to thank the Coffs Coast Jeepers Club for their continued support of the event, without them the event would not happen. We blooded some new trip leaders and the old club hands were at their best again. The weather was favourable with five great days for Jeeping and socialising.
Chrysler Jeep has supported Camp Coffs since it's inception and this year was no exception. Their continued support is appreciated by us, the organisers, and those who attend the event. The people at Jeep really do understand the Jeep lifestyle that goes with owning and enjoying a Jeep and realize that owners who get involved in the Jeep lifestyle will stay with the brand. So thanks again Jeep for your support of Camp Coffs 2012.
This issue is the start of our 10th year of Jeep Action Magazine. We have published lots of Jeep Action since our first issue in May 2003. We are proud of what we have achieved and our contribution to Jeep ownership and the Jeep lifestyle in Australia. Many said it couldn't be done and wouldn't last, but here we are, heading towards our tenth birthday.
Thanks to those who have supported us from day one, or come on board along
the way and welcome to our newest readers.
April 2012 Editorial
As you are reading this editorial, Camp Coffs will be nearly upon us. It seems like only six months ago we were organising last year's event. Coffs Coast Jeepers have been working hard organising the different guided trips that will be on offer.
This issue we have part two of Jeepin' Across the Anne Beadell Highway to the Nullarbor Links Golf Course. Some of our so called "Highways" can be a real challenge to drive and it's great to read that we have the longest golf course in the world. Keep those travel articles coming in and your profiles as well.
2012 is a Jamboree year. For our new readers Jamborees are held every two years by a Jeep club who nominate themselves and take on the huge event. This year the Sydney Jeep club has put up their hand. Jamborees cater for all levels of Jeep ownership and are a great way to meet like-minded Jeep owners and learn about the Jeep lifestyle. So get behind them, fill in your registration and support our Australian 2012 Jeep Jamboree.
March 2012 Editorial
I had a call in the office recently from a Jeep owner with a fuel problem. He had been to numerous workshops, spent a couple of thousand dollars and the problem was still there. My advice was, if you are travelling in the area of any Jeep speciality shops that advertise in Jeep Action, make a booking and call in and see them. He did just that and on his next trip, called into a workshop that specialises in Jeep. It was a little out of his way, but worth the inconvenience. The problem was rectified in a couple of hours and one very happy Jeep owner was on his way.
Now this Jeep shop or any other aren't magicians, they just know Jeeps. They own the brand and they work on them every day, you can't beat that experience. In this instance the shop had seen this problem before and knew what to look for. So if you have a problem or want your Jeep checked out by Jeep specialists, work it around your next trip or holiday and visit one.
Enjoy,
Michael Bowen
