Just on a side note,
I notice alot of people seem to get issues after, changing their transmission oil and their transfer case oil.
Bear with me on this one, as it comes from a machine operator.
Back in the day when i was learning to drive an excavator, dozer etc. I was always thought, that when tramming them a long distance in one stint, that it was good for the final drive, oil pumps etc. to stop after 3-400mtrs rotate the machine and reverse for 3-400mtrs stop and repeat until you got too your destination. Reason being that this prevented the oil from finding a simple path through the system, which resulted in not all of the oil being circulated, which caused overheating and cool pockets of oil forming in low flow areas, by reversing then you reversed the oil flow and used 100% of the oil rather than maybe 70 or 80% if you didn't rotate.
My theory, which is all it is, is that because we drive our cars forward for 99% of its life, then in the transmission, and transfer case's low flow areas develop where all the shit and curd could potentially build up. So when we add new oil it may tend to disturb this and cause issues.
So might be an idea before you change the oil to reverse the car around the block a couple of times, before dropping the oil.
