Whatever is loose or broken can sometimes be fixed by the car turning over, or if jump the car in first that also can fix it. If I'm driving at the gauges black out tapping on the brakes sometimes fixes it.
I've had the dash out a few times now, currently just driving around with the dash removed and the steering column cover to try and pin point what is going on

Does it actually die on occasion? Mine will just stop running... A quick turn of the key to off then back on and pop the clutch and your good. I'm thinking I'm getting an ASD signal once in a while. It doesn't happen often, and I can go months without an issue. I've seen several posts where people will find the connectors behind the dash, and just above the pedals are starting to melt. Change the connector, and your good to go.

Finally replaced my rear boot seal! Getting rid of the loud rattle from the back (still a lot of little rattles to sort yet), and it has quieted the hum from the 2.5" exhaust a little as well so bonus! Will be doing the rear doors soon.

My mirror dropped off a couple of months ago. Tried the glue from Bursons which held until I adjusted the mirror the next day. Did that twice at $14 a shot, drove around for a month with no mirror, got sick of not having a mirror and gave the vehicle to Obriens who glued it on for free (note they're workshop is opposite my workshop so it was a trade favor thing) stuck bloody good now.
Good luck. Remember to mark where it goes on the outside of the glass before you scratch off the old glue.

Today I had a switch put in that I can manually override the cooling fan. So along with the oversized 3 core radiator, new water pump, new thermostat - this puppy is cool as a cucumber.

Thanks for the tip re marking the windscreen. I probably would have thought of that AFTER the fact, nice. I'm assuming they tell you what glue they used... Trade secret or something.

Insert "didn't" after "assuming they" in the above post... oops.
