I have driven both (but own neither ). The two door is a FFFFAAARRKKKKLOAD more fun to punt around in, turn the ESP to limited mode and the only car I've ever felt more secure going sideways in was a Toyota Supra. The 2DR is a beast off the tarmac too tearing around easy and hard tracks with a kick of speed and fun. The 4dr, much much much much much more practical vehicle. It's extra size is both an advantage and a disadvantage offroad. The longer wheelbase of the 4dr can really help in regards to keeping traction and pushing through obstacles although the 2dr in my opinion can be made to be a much more hardcore vehicle.

Both are kinshhhtuff offroad. 2dr is more fun and more hardcore. 4dr is much more comfortable a ride and much more practicle a vehicle.

The question is, do you and the missus need the space/ will you need it in the next few years?

If answer is no then keep the 2dr and have a helluvalotmorefun and spend the cash lifting and locking it.

If answer is yes trade in immediately for a 4dr then find money to lift and lock it!
