I've always supplied the oil myself because I knew that they charged $150 for 8 litres of the stuff. They told me that they used Castrol oils and I therefor supplied it myself. I also began to supply oil filters as they charge $80 for one!

Cheers,

Default correct oil for MY13 GC diesel

Hi.
I have just changed the oil and filter on my GC 50 000 km service. Went to supercheap auto they checked they manual and recommended Nulon long life dsl 5w 30 conforms to ACEA C3. 10 liters cost $82.50. For the oil filter I went to Jeep dealer and purchased genuine Mopar filter for $73 (made in China). Previous service @ 40 000 km performed by dealer they used Valvoline sypower mst 5w 40

I'm interested to know why did you decided to change back to 5W30 - SCA's manuals will be out of date as the FCA change is relatively recent.

Default correct oil for MY13 GC diesel

Hi Desertman.
It was confusing what grade to use, but I will go with 5W 40 next oil change and will try Ryco oil filter, as Mopar oil filter is made in China and cost $73.
